Hotel casegoods from Turkey: nightstands, desks, TV units and minibar cabinets

Hotel casegoods from Turkey are built to the project's drawings: a board core (MDF, particleboard or plywood), a face of veneer, HPL or lacquer, an edge, and contract-grade hardware. The destination sets the formaldehyde class of the boards and the strength tests the pieces should pass. Rovers prices every line with the Turkish partner factory that fits, issues shop drawings, approves samples, follows production and inspects every piece before packing.

Sheet PR-01Reviewed Rovers Contract

Casegoods are the hard pieces of a hotel room: everything made of board and wood that is not a seat or a mattress. In Turkey they are made to the project’s drawings, room type by room type. Rovers reads the BOQ and the drawings, prices each line with the Turkish partner factory that fits the job, and sends shop drawings and finish samples for approval before anything is cut.

What the casegoods package holds

Item What it usually is What we ask before pricing
Nightstand Box with one drawer or an open shelf, sometimes wall-hung Drawer or open; socket or USB cut-out; floor-standing or hung
Desk or writing table Top with a modesty panel or a wall-fixed shelf desk Cable grommet; top material; fixed to wall or free
TV unit or media panel Wall panel with a TV bracket zone, or a low unit with drawers TV size and bracket; cable route; any lighting
Minibar cabinet Cabinet around a fridge, often part of a coffee station Fridge model and its vent rule; tray or drawer above
Luggage rack Open frame or a low bench, with a top that takes the knocks Solid wood, metal bars or HPL top; wall guard behind
Dresser and chest Drawer unit, often joined to the desk or TV wall Drawer count; runner type; soft-close
Headboard panel and bed sides See beds and headboards
Wardrobe and wall panels See wardrobes and joinery

A typical guestroom repeats the same set across many keys, so one approved sample per room type governs the batch.

How a casegood is built

Each piece is a core, a face, an edge and a finish, picked for where it sits in the room. Our surface guide compares them in detail; the short version:

Layer Common choices Where it goes
Core MDF (EN 622-5; MDF.H for humid zones), particleboard (EN 312; P2 dry, P3 humid), plywood MDF under lacquer and veneer; particleboard under melamine for carcass interiors; plywood where screws must hold
Face Real-wood veneer, HPL, melamine (LPL), lacquered MDF HPL or hard-lacquered veneer on tops; melamine inside drawers and carcasses
Edge Solid wood lipping, veneer edge, PVC or ABS strip Solid lipping or thick PVC/ABS on tops and corners that luggage hits
Finish PU or acrylic lacquer at a set gloss level, stain to the approved sample Matched against the signed finish sample, not a code alone
Hardware Drawer runners, hinges, connectors, levelling feet Contract-rated runners and hinges; soft-close where specified

On the factory floor, boards are cut on a panel saw or CNC, edged on an edgebander, drilled for connectors, then sanded, stained and lacquered in a spray booth before assembly. Solid-wood parts go through the planer and moulder first. Each of these steps has its own check on the order file.

Emissions classes by market

The boards inside the furniture carry a formaldehyde class, and the destination decides the limit.

Market Rule What the buyer receives
EU Regulation (EU) 2023/1464: 0.062 mg/m³ for furniture and wood-based articles, from 6 Aug 2026 Board test reports to the EU limit; “E1” alone no longer settles it
UK and other markets that cite E1 E1 class, 0.1 ppm by the EN 717-1 chamber test Board data sheets naming the class and test
United States TSCA Title VI, the same limits as CARB Phase 2 Panel certificates from a third-party certifier; “TSCA Title VI compliant” label on finished goods

A spec that says “E0” should name the standard and the number behind it, since E0 is not a European class.

Checks a casegood goes through

Check When What is measured
Shop drawing approval Before cutting Dimensions, build-up per part, hardware, finish codes
Finish sample Before production Colour, gloss and grain against the designer’s reference
First article or mock-up Start of the batch Fit with the bed, wall and electrics; drawer travel
In-line checks During production Board thickness, edge bond, drilling positions, lacquer film
Pre-packing inspection Before packing Dimensions, colour match, surface defects, hardware function, labels

For strength, EN 16121 sets requirements for non-domestic storage furniture (safety, strength, durability, stability). A hotel brand standard may add its own drawer-cycle and load tests; these are priced as their own line once the standard is known.

Lights, sockets and USB in casegoods

A nightstand or desk with a socket, a USB charger or a lamp is part furniture and part electrical product. The electrical parts carry their own marking for the market: in the EU, equipment from 50 to 1,000 V AC falls under the Low Voltage Directive and carries CE marking. We fit certified components and route cables to the site’s connection point shown on the electrical drawing.

Packing and delivery

Each piece is wrapped, corner-protected and labelled with its item code, room type, floor and box count, so the site team can stage one floor at a time. Delivery and installation follow the plan in shipping hotel furniture from Turkey. Outside the US we install; for US projects the scope is manufactured and delivered.

What to send us

Send the FF&E schedule or BOQ, the room-type drawings, the finish schedule and the destination. If the finishes are still open, we propose a build-up per piece and price it line by line.
