Office furniture from Turkey covers a whole workplace fit-out. Turkey makes and exports office furniture at scale, from brand-name chairs and systems to custom reception desks and wall joinery. Rovers puts both on one schedule for a fit-out contractor or a developer: the loose furniture from the Turkish partner factory or brand that holds the test reports, and the joinery built to the designer’s drawings, priced line by line and delivered floor by floor.
Where the furniture sits in a fit-out
| Layer | What it covers | Who usually buys it | Rovers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cat A | Landlord’s base build: ceilings, raised floor, MEP, toilets | Landlord’s contractor | No |
| Cat B | Tenant fit-out: partitions, joinery, furniture, AV | Design-and-build fit-out contractor, or the occupier | Joinery and loose furniture as one package |
| Furniture package | Loose furniture bought separately from the build | Occupier, through a dealer or direct | The same package, direct to the occupier or developer |
Most often the furniture sits inside the design-and-build contractor’s Cat B price. There, Rovers works as the furniture and joinery subcontractor: one priced schedule, one sample round, one delivery plan per floor, matched to the contractor’s programme. Developers fitting out floors before letting them (“Cat A+” or plug-and-play floors) can buy the same package direct.
Example schedule per 100 desks
Quantities on a real job come from the designer’s layout. The typical quantities below show how a 100-desk floor is scheduled and which standard each line is tested to.

EN 1335 tests a chair for eight hours a day of use by a person of up to 110 kg. BIFMA X5.1 tests task chairs to a user weight of 125 kg (275 lb). The test reports come from the maker of each chair or desk and are attached to the line they cover.
Custom joinery
A dealer sells catalogue furniture. The joinery on an office floor is drawn for that floor: the reception counter, the executive suite, tea points, storage walls, feature walls and lockers. Rovers has these built from the designer’s drawings by a Turkish joinery factory, with shop drawings approved before cutting and finish samples signed before production. Loose furniture and joinery sit in the same order file, so finishes, delivery and installation follow one sequence.
Turkish office furniture in numbers
Turkey’s office furniture sector reports about US$1.9 billion of exports in 2024 to 176 countries (association figure, covering seating and all office lines). In customs data for desks and storage alone, Turkey was the 12th exporter of metal office furniture (HS 940310, about US$114 million) and the 10th of wooden office furniture (HS 940330, about US$84 million) in 2024.
Delivery per floor
Each floor ships as its own order, packed by zone (open plan, meeting rooms, executive, reception) with labels matching the furniture plan. Lead time is quoted per floor, from approved samples. Outside the US, Rovers installs the floor, sets up the workstations and hands it over with a snag list closed. In the US, Rovers manufactures and delivers, and the contractor’s installer fits the floor.
What to send us
Send the furniture layout and the furniture schedule, or the BOQ, with the joinery drawings, the city, the floor count and the handover date for each floor. A layout with desk and meeting-room counts is enough for a first priced schedule.
